Junior Guinea Pig
On sunday I noticed Bijou's left eye had some small pieces of hay around it. I removed the pieces outside and at night his eye began to tear up. Yesterday it continued to tear up, it was not much, but it was something that was noticeable. It wasn't red, it wasn't cloudy, just like he was crying lightly. I took him to the vet this afternoon, he washed his eyes with saline solution and prescribed Visidic gel (Carbomer). He said there was no foreign body in his eye and told me to clean his eyes with saline solution twice a day for 3 days and apply the gel twice a day for 5 days. He said if any green discharge start to come out I should come back and he would prescribe an antibiotic. He said it was possibly some hay dust irritating his eye, he checked his teeth and everything was fine. Is that really the case? Should I continue with this treatment?
Other than that he is fine, he is eating normally, drinking water, running, his eye is not red, just a little teary.
