I noticed Yugi had a very watery eye today as I went to clean them out.

I've also seen Joey licking her eye this week. I'm not sure if she maybe has an illness or him licking her eye is causing the problem?

Would it be best to take her to the vet? My local aren't very guinea pig savvy sadly but I'm worried about her.

It does seem to come and go, it's not constant.

Hopefully it's nothing but I'd have her seen by the vet as that looks very watery. Watery eyes can be caused by injury, illness, infection, blocked tear duct or problems with the teeth. Any general vet can deal with an eye issue as the treatment for eyes is the same in all species

Thank you. I'll take her to my general vet then and hopefully they can help. She seems fine in herself otherwise.

Hi!

Please have her checked; the gunk could be an ulceration. It may be something stuck under a lid that continues to cause issues, depending on the eye movement.

Any potential eye injury or any recurring issue should be vet checked promptly.
