Which things/paints etc are safe for animal use on a hutch?

I just took three piggies and a rabbit in who live in a hutch that needs some weatherproofing doing to it what is the best stuff to use?

My old hutch used to be outside in all weathers. That is covered with heavy duty roofing felt which was applied using a blow torch so it was completely waterproof and windproof. If you have a friend who is a roofer, get them to do it for you. It may be expensive, but it's worth it in the long run for piece of mind. ;)

Are you going to seperate the piggies from the rabbit? :)

Insulation - plywood screwed onto the inside of the original hutch with house /shed insulation sandwiched in between.

Roof = roofing felt tacked on with felt nails making sure all areas covered.

Greenhouse thick bubblewrap is a good idea, you can use drawing pins to tack it to the back, sides and roof of your hutch on the outside and then put a hutch cover over that.

E bay sell it by the metre it is not like the packing stuff , the bubbles are much bigger and it is double lined:)

I insulated my hutch the best way in the end , I brought it into my dining room so it has a whole house and radiators now!
