Please have your piggy vet checked for a potential conjunctivitis or eye injury if the watering continues and the eye looks different from the other eye. Since eye problems can deteriorate very quickly, please see a vet if possible tomorrow.

What do you mean by strange?

also does her ear look strange ?

Ask your vet to have a look at the ear when you have the eye checked. It is impossible for us to tell just from your pictures whether this is down to skin markings or something else; you will need a hands-on examination for that.

i’ve booked her in for vets today to check the eye this is what it looks like today, is there anything i can do to keep her comfortable until the vets at 5?

No - the less you mess, the easier it is for the vet to diagnose and step in with the correct treatment. No vet will thank you for home treating on spec.

is it likely to be hay poke? i’m quite worried hate seeing her like this :(the earliest app they had was 5 that should be okay?

Hi!

We cannot diagnose for you. A vet will apply a special dye to the eye that shows any damage clearly under UV light; it is often not visible to the naked eye.

Please take a deep breath; your vets have made space for her to be seen as possible as with all eye infections/injuries, which are prioritised in the UK. It only a few hours more; and since you are having seen her promptly, the recovery should be pretty quick and straight forward. ;)

i took her to the vets and they said she has a scratched cornea , and prescribed eye drops 4 times a day and then down to 3 times a day. bringing her back next week for a checkup, does this sound like hay poke and something that she’ll recover from ? x

Yes, it sounds like a hay poke injury. Give it time for the drops to kick in and you should see an improvement in a few days. I’m glad you’ve had her seen

roughly when do you think i’ll start to see it improving?

Recovery depends on how bad the injury was in the first place and how quickly treatment was sought.
Whenever mine have had haypoke, the treatment has usually started to make it look better within 3-4 days.
