Water bottle

Hi! This might seem a bit of a random question/ worry but I have changed my boars set up (They have a lovely floor area each and are separated due to fighting but can still sniff at each other.) Anyway i’ll get to the point- one of my pigs Simba hasn’t had any water since the new set up! He has two bottles( the same as before). They are working but the water has barely gone down if at all since Sunday. He knows they’re there but he just sniffs at them. Will be dehydrate? He used to drink his bottles in his old set up! Thanks all x

Hello and isn’t it a worry - is he still getting veg ? Is there wetness in his cage? Have you checked him over and is his weight the same?
Do you think he’s just adjusting to the new set up ? Are the bottles ‘his’ ones ?
Sorry I’m not much help - I have a new piggy and he drinks much more than my other piggy ever has
Hopefully someone will come along with more advice

Chances are he is just settling into the new set up.
The need to drink comes before the need to eat. So, if he is eating you can rest assured he is drinking, he will also be getting fluids from veg

They’re such a worry! He has never drunk as much as my other pig Percy but I’m sure he used to drink more! I swear to goodness they’ll be the death of me Thanks so much for your reply x

Do keep in mind that the more liquid he gets from veg, the less water he is likely to need to drink from the bottle
