my piglets water bottle leaks regardless of angle. I've recently put in a shallow water bowl but they poo in it and walk through it rolleyes getting their feed area wet what do you all use? thanks

Just bumping this for you....

Mine does the same on the girls hutch, I've changed the bottle, the cap and it still leaks. Yet when I put it on the boys hutch, it doesn't!

I found with mine, if I do the top up too tight, they leak! If I don't over tighten, they don't leak

Thats really interesting, I always do mine up tight as I thought it would stop them leaking, will have to try your way.
I found the glass bottles really bad for leaking.

It was glass bottles I found this with!

My boys have a Ferplast Sippy bottle, they arent cheap but well worth it no leaks whatsoever!

I use these bottles too and out of all the bottles we have used (which is alot) i think these ones are the best when it comes to dripping.

the only thing i dislike about them is it dosent look comfy to drink out of :{ but my boys dont seem to have any problems with it :)

i've got Bob Martins 'My Little Friend' bottle for mine, and I find it rarely leaks! Unless they're popcorning around ;)

With the generic plastic ones with a red lid I found they would leak if they were too full so I only put in half the amount of water.

I have a glass living world on and so far I think its fantastic. I have a huge one with the theory if it develops a leak it'll have to leak for three days before the water runs dry. So far I've found it only drips/leaks if the water level gets low so about half the way down.

With the plastic ones I also found it came down to the angle it was positioned at and sometimes if I ran my finger over the spout it would help create the vacuum suction thing it needs.

Try getting a plastic water bottle. I have had plastic ones for my pigs and they are great. I hope this works!

My glass ones leaked so last week I bought 2 ferplast sippy plastic bottles (they are different to the ball bearing type ones) ....but .....while theyve not leaked.... the piggies wont drink from them..... rolleyes..... any ideas ?
x

I use the clear plastic bottle with a red cap, the one i had before leaked like crazy -_- but as long as you fill it all the way up to the top when you refill and hold your finger on the end when it's put in for about 5 seconds i find this red caped one doesn't leak i try to have a little stone thing underneath anyways which catches any dribbles as my pigs are messy eaters/drinkers :)

I purchased a new bottle for my guineas, which too did leak, I contacted the seller and the advice they gave me was " fill the bottle, and shake the bottle really hard to get the ball bearing moving" I did this with my bottle, problem resolved :)
be sure to do this over the sink :)

OMG stumbled upon your responses when checking threads I didn't think any one replied lol! I'm sick of using the water bowl more they poo in it and run through it and allsorts, it's getting their feeding area wet and horrid! I'm changing things NOW! Thankyou all x
