Hey everyone
As you all know I needed to get a new water bottle and I decided to get a glass one. The petsmart in my area did not have any superpet ones or living world ones when I went so I ended up getting 2 kaytee glass bottles. They both look pretty good and I also got scrubber brush to clean them but I am wondering about the ducks on the indside.
it looks as if they are made from a different type of plastic than the superpet and living world water bottles. I know this is probably safe but I am paranoid about bpa and all that bad stuff that could leech into the water and be bad for my piggies...are the ducks fine to keep in the bottle or should I email kaytee and ask about the bpa? I don't want to sound like a crazy person lol

I think the kaytee ones are rebranded versions of superpet ones, I don't know if they are BPA free but if it concerns you then email the company. I know there were questions raised about it's safety but BPA is still widely used in human drinking products including lining waterpipes so I'm not sure it poses that much of a threat.

thanks I emailed them last night and am awaiting their reply. I will post back here when I hear back from them

I have those same water bottles. I got glass because water sitting in plastic tastes funny. I just took the duck out. I think they put those in there for owners who don't check or change the water daily. Plus I didn't want it to make the water taste weird which is why I got glass in the first place.

Cats are very fussy water drinkers and you should always use glass or ceramic bowls for them as they will drink more water because it tastes better. I think most animals would.

Take a glass if water and let it sit in a plastic cup over night and then take a sip. YUCK LOL.

Plus glass isn't going to harbor bacteria like plastic. I know this isn't a cat thread lol, but cats who eat out of plastic can get bacterial skin infections on their chins like acne because of the bacteria in plastic, it holds germs even after being cleaned.
