I have vet fleece that can be washed at a high temperature but the horse bag says 40 degrees. Does anyone wash with their horse bag at higher temperatures? I have an orange one. Thanks.

I do - I often use it at 60 degrees.
To be honest I never actually looked at the temperature on the horse wash bag itself - ooops!
But mine seems fine.

I ignored the washing label on my horse bag and no ill effect. I wash everything at 60 degrees or 50 degrees and mine is still ok.

What temp do u wash fleece bedding, I've been washing at 40 degrees does it make a difference?

At a higher temperature, you will kill off the bacteria and mould spores. It's always best to wash at the highest temperature possible...it also helps to clear the gunge from your washing machine waste pipe. When I use towels, under the vet fleece, I was them at 90 degress. Washing at 40 degrees I still have the urine smell because the bacteria hasn't been killed. I've been using Dettol laundry cleanse for the washable incontinence pad but I think that can take more than 40 degrees, I need to check.

Regular fleece is meant to be washed at 40 degrees but I just washed some polar fleece at 60 degrees and it seems fine.

My horse bag is the green one and has been in the washing machine quite a few times at 90 degrees.

The washable incontinence pad I use is meant to be washed at 60 degrees, so I'll give the horse bag a go at that temperature today.

Mine survived it's first 60 degree wash and now having another! At 40 degrees the incontinence pad I use still smells of pee but at 60 degrees it just smells of the detergent I used.

A horse bag acts as a filter for the soapy water while keeping all the hair and hay in the bag rather than clogging up your washing machine and waste pipe. I bought a large one - Horse Wear Wash Bags ORANGE, BLACK, or WHITE in Small, Large, & Jumbo Sizes | eBay

i'm thinking of getting a horsebag, but not got round to it yet.

if you want to clean out the washing machine Online Food Shopping - ASDA Groceries
these soda crystals (£1 kilo pack-lasts for ages) in the washing machine drum on a boil wash clean & de-grease the drum & pipes. if you have white cottons/flannels that can be boil washed it also brings them up nice &white too or just use it an empty wash for a cleaning cycle.

for a cooler wash that you want to kill germs & disinfect (not woolens, silks or non colour fast items) at 30'c i use Napisan (£2.50 - 800g pack)
wilko.com - napisan
its for cleaning reusable nappies but leaves my whites white :) & reduces odours too :tu:
