Have any of you tried washing a vet bed in the washing machine? I had to fight with mine for 15 mins to make it fit and now it doesn't seem to have been washed very well :-S.
Any good ideas on better/other ways to wash it? Thanks :)

Guessing it's new...
Once you've washed it a few times it becomes easier to get in the washing machine...
I find some of mine dont wash very well some times....
What are you washing it on..?
I put mine on 40 cotton wash...

Also if there's any poop And other rubbish hanging round...
How I get rid of it... Is I use a scrubbing brush... So a good stiff brush... And brush the bedding down before I goes in the machine...

Just pop it in the machine again... Sometimes mine needs to be washed two or three times.... Usually the boys bedding to be fair....
Lol

Also are you folding it up or just cramming it in...?
I fit mine in by folding it length ways and then around the drum to make an O shape... With the fluffy bit on the outside of the fold... If you get what I mean...
Can't think of a better way to explain it... Lol

That's how I do it :)) Can only get two pieces in at once and with 12 piggies in 4 pens (two pieces each) it's a marathon wash along with their cozy beds etc.
The hooman washing is ceiling high somedays as the piggies stuff has to be done :(|)
Typically in my house:
Daughter/son - 'have I got any clean clothes...?'
Me - 'No, sorry, still in the wash'
OH - 'where's those nice fluffy blankets the piggies like ?'
Me - 'oh, folded up clean under the pens...'
:(|) ;)

Yeah this is the first time I've washed it. I gave it a good brush first and gave it a bit of a beating while it was hanging on the line lol. I folded it up fluffy side out then rolled it up (after trying to cram it in repeatedly!).

I washed it on synthetic 60 degrees, maybe too high? Hopefully it will get better like you said. I've got 1 messy boy and 1 tidy girl on it. I'll see what it's like when it's dry and might wash it again..,thanks for the help :-)

I have at the moment 2 pieces that are 2 meters long... And about 10 other pieces of various sizes... And the ones that are 2 meters are an absolute joke to wash....!
And your house sounds like mine...
I realised the other day I had run out of pants... But had a lovely stack of clean vet bed and cozies... :))
Lmao

They do soften up....
I've found 40 degree wash works best for me...
I once put some on a 90 degree wash because it was mingin... And I reduced it to a fleece blanket.... Lol
When there new and really stiff it's a pain in the ass to wash....!

:(|) We have to get our priorities right where the piggies are concerned ;)
I blame them for not getting stuff done at home, good job they can't speak :x
Luckily OH admits he sits talking and just watching them for ages if he's at home and I'm working :(|)

Lmao...
How bloody cute of OH...
mine walked in my house the other day and there's cages all down the one side of the house so it's like a bloody obstacle course to get the other side.... Lol
And he flipped out....
And when we went to bed and I had 5 up there on quarantine.... And they were noisy.... And he freaked then...
But he does love the evil bunny....!

I cut all my vet bed (maximum size is 20x70cm)to make them easier to clean and doing it in 3 stages.
first clean them from dropping second hand wash them in specific places to remove pee and third put into wm in gentle mod 40 degrees.
