Hiya again,
Sorry everyone i have posted about three posts now, and your probably getting a bit sick of me now asking all these questions :/ but your guys are so helpful! :)

Well anyways your will be happy to know ive got the vets tomorrow for Elliots bug thing in his head (not sure if it is lice?) and they are getting there nails clipped, so let me get to the point! :))

Today i spoke to my friend about washing and she said that you can do if you like to keep them clean, i am going to ask at the vets tomorrow but i just wanted your advice too :)
Let me know what you think, Thank you!

It depends a lot on your guinea pigs and how they live. Mine are short haired and live inside. I've had mine for 7 months now and still not needed to wash them. They have shiny, soft coats, don't smell or look dirty (and my girls are mostly white) so the rescue lady said I didn't need to do it... They are very cute when they wash themselves though!

If your piggies have long fur then it's another thing...

Well Grandad has very long fur, but Elliot is short haired and has a shiny coat.. my petstore didn't say anything but it was mainly Grandad with his long coat!? :{

Longhaired piggies do need regular, best daily grooming.

I do bathe my piggies when they are positively filthy, but do try not to do it too often as their noses and their group scent is more important than most prople realise. With them living on fleece, they are actually a lot cleaner now than on the old wood shavings and hay.

You can find good shampoos specially for guinea pigs on this website:

I will also ask at the vets and see what they say, and then i will buy some from a very good pet store which i always get my supplies from :)

Thank you anyway for the website as i will be able to go to that if i can't find any!
