Hi there,
I've got 2 female adult guinea pigs and wondered if I could have some advice:
1) How often can you wash your guinea pigs - I do it about 3x a year - is that too often?
2) After I washed them today I put on the 'anti parasites ivermectin spot on' about an hour after - is this bad as their pores are open - will it cause irritation and what can I do to stop it?
3) I tend to feed them a handful of spinach or kale x2 a day - is this ok or is this diet too high in calium - what else should I feed them?

Many thanks - I really appreciate it!

Here's a list of suitable foods and appropriate amounts : Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets hope it will help!

It's not a good idea to use Ivermectin as a preventative, it just means that the mites build up a resistance to it. Only use it when mites are visibly causing an issue, using vet-strength medicine prescribed by your vet.
