My boyf Chris and i were sitting watching a film the other evening and i could hear a bit of squeaking going on at about half 11ish, i didn't think much of it until i went into the kitchen about 10 minutes later to see Badger with a blood stain on her shoulder... i called for Chris to come and help me and we took Badger out of the pen to assess the damage... :'(

she was missing a perfect circle of fur about the size of a 5p and skin by the looks of the blood! so i got some warm water and cotton wool and dabbed the wound then applied some antiseptic cream (i think Germoline was the only thing i had to hand!) (let me know if this is a BAD thing to put on her!) ? she seemed quite calm, but not sure if this was shock... and she didnt wince in pain when we were cleaning the area...

I am checking daily to make sure that it is not going septic etc, but is there anything else i could put on it to help it heal or to keep it clean? i am not sure which one of the herd of piggies is the culprit though! i did check their teeth and fur around their mouths to see if there was any blood on them, but no evidence of this... i am presuming she didnt do it to herself! :-\

Poor Badger! should i remove the one that i think did it? is this perhaps a dominance thing? eeek! any advice gratefully received! :smitten:

Its difficult not knowing who the culprit is. You have done the correct thing by cleaning her up etc.
Keep an eye on the area and clean twice a day, just incase an abcess builds up, take her to the vets if you are worried and they will give you anti-botics.
I have nursed ripped ears at home before in the same way as you and within 2-3 days it was healed over but sadly still ripped.

It seems to be healing ok, it is a red kind of scab instead of looking pussey and yellow... will keep an eye on her... not sure what antiseptic creams i should use... again if you guys have any ideas then let me know!

I will keep watch over them to see who the culprit could be... i think it may be wuzzle... although Dooley has been 'barbering' herself and Badger but mainly on her rump area... hoping that a lot of hay will help her stop that part of the behaviour... not sure she has it in her to have taken a chunk out of Badger though... poor badger! :smitten:

Any small animal antiseptic cream or wound powder are great stuff. Have a look at these...

I am sure pets at home stock these, but I could be wrong.
Have a check around the area and see if you can feel a pocket building up underneith the scab area. Also you can soften the scab with warm salty water and remove the squeeze gentle to see if anything is building up, but you should be able to see the abcess straight away once the scab is removed.
