So, with the three boys, the small cages are, well, small. I want to make a C&C cage for Tommy and Jacob, and something bigger for Patrick. This past week has been nice, so all three boys get outside time using the C&C playpen I made.

I do put all three together, with 2 large hides (they are actually lids for covered cat pans), and lots of things to nibble and explore. Patrick is doing well and there has been no issues between them. I don't plan on trying to keep them together, but for an hour every couple of days seems to keep them interested in their environment and gives them companionship. Once I get these new cages done, then I will start contacting rescues here to find a boar to boar date with Patrick.

Anyways, what I would love to know is what to use as the bottom of the cage. I rent, and have lino on the floor. I want something that I can sweep the shavings and do a fast wash (no fabric for us, tried it and got tired of daily laundry just for the pigs, lol). I need something solid, movable and relatively cheap. I had been thinking about making a light weight box (using cheap wood lined with bathroom flooring, or something similar).

Oh, and this just popped into my head, can I make a double level cage, so Patrick can live in the top? Or should I just make 2 cages?

Sorry for the randomness of this, lol. It's spring and I'm itching to do something for them, lol!

Why can't you keep the three boys together? If they get along on the floor, they should get along in the larger C&C cage.

Is there a reason you choose wood instead of coroplast?

They get on for an hour, more than that and there are issues with Patrick guarding food, water and housing, lol. He's a bully, lol!

I actually only thought of wood because I didn't realize that the coroplast is used as a base as well :red But I will look into the prices here and make plans after that.

C&C is short for cubes & coroplast :)

See this page for instructions for C&C.

Look for sign shop or plastic warehouse in your area.

Have you tried providing more than one food location? Usually with multiple boars, you'll need a pellet dish and water bottle for each pig.
