One of my piggies squeaks a lot when picked up...is this excitement, nervousness, wanting put back down or in fear? She's not sore! She does seem quite a vocal piggie anyway compared to the others (i have 4)

My Muffin is so vocal, I often hear her just squeaking away to herself while laid in her cosy sack. When handling her or having a cuddle with her she will be so loud, I often say to her, i'm not hurting you don't be a diva rolleyes
Baby and Teltey won't make a muffle when i'm handling or having a cuddle with them. I think you've just got a lovely vocal piggy :))

My Eddie pig wheeks when i pick him out of his cage, i don't know why i guess he just doesn't like being lifted of the ground very much !

Depends on the sound, if you google guinea pig noises there's some websites out there where you can listen to recordings and compare.
Flinn hates being picked, he's also very whingy, he hoots if you pick him up, if he can't get in his cosy sack, if winston pinches his food, etc
Tyler on the other hand squeaks excitedly when I pick him up, you can hear the difference, because he knows that means floor time which he loves :)

Thanks.

Gogoguineas.....do you let yours run around inside? I've always been a bit wary about them getting lost/stuck/chewing things etc

Thanks.

Are you going by the term 'floor time'? :)
Floor time is time out of the cage, either in a run or some slaves let the pigs have floor time in the bathroom/kitchen/living room space free range. The more floor time the better for piggies.

Thanks.

Yes I let mine have the run of the living room on occasion, as long as I shut the door to the kitchen there's nowhere for mine to get lost. I use some spare grids to block off the tv stand otherwise they do love the maze of wires and I use a couple more to block off my swivel arm chair but only cos once they go under it my arms aren't long enough to reach them. After that they have an open room, they can't get behind or under the sofas and there isn't any more furniture. The only thing they like to try and chew is the rug rolleyes

thank you Gogoguineas. Mine get outside in a guinea pig run as often as time and the weather allows. I bring them inside occasionally but tend to not let them run too far (I have 4 pigs and can't watch/catch them all at once!)

ahh that's good :)
I don't have a lawn hence run time indoors, I only have a patio and gravel rolleyes
