Hi. My first time doing this, so not sure its correct. So, here goes. I have 2 male guinea pigs. Both almost 10 months. For the past month, Squeak has been vocal while peeing & pooing. His behaviour beyond this, is completely normal. He's had 2 weeks of antibiotics & pain relief, for possible UTI. Had x ray, & ruled out stones. Urine sample taken after completing antibiotics. No crystals, no blood no infection present. His glucose levels are high, but on a very good diet, low calcium, filtered water. He's a good weight too. Thing is, he's still vocal when going to the toilet even though no stones or infection there. Just wondering if any of you have an idea of what's going on? His behaviour is completely normal.

Hi and welcome

Have you and your vet checked his penis shaft in case there is either a sperm rod (dried sperm fluid) or a build-up of smegma? Teenage is prime time for sperm fluid production although sperm rods and boar glue (dried sperm fluid spread to other body parts) can happen at any time.

My vet did an examination of his Penis at the first visit. She never said anything so I presume he was ok down there. I don't know how to check him down there. I'm a first time guinea pig owner & I get quite anxious. Will this resolve itself then in time? In the meantime, both my piggies have started on Cystease, one capsule a day
