Today I went to Upper Austria with a friend of mine who was looking for a girl to live with her lone boar - we visited the guinea pig farm (Zipf | Meerschweinchenfarm Bravo Birgit | Oberösterreich)

The guinea pig farm is a special place. It is not a rescue primarily. Birgit takes in holliday boarders (also long term). People who want to stop keeping their piggy because it's the last one left can bring these piggies to the farm and pay a little amount for their keep. Birgit also takes in some unwanted piggies and places them in new homes.

There are different groups living outdoors or indoors.
It really felt like a visit to a piece of piggy heaven.

Right you see my sponsorship piggy Schneeflocke

Unfortunately it's quite a long trip from Vienna, but it was a great day trip.
(And I managed to go home without my pockets stuffed with piggies. )

That does look like a wonderful place. Hope your friend got her piggy a new friend.

That looks lovely.
I hope that the bonding goes well. I think we humans get more anxious about it than the piggies.

That looks like a great place for piggies to live! :)

What a lovely idea and a wonderful place for piggies to live - I wouldn't mind living there myself, it looks so peaceful
