I would like like to know what people's views are on the Skyline Maxi cage, as I am looking to get it this week or the ferplast 120. The Skyline is cheaper and would be nice to be able to get a wheel as well for my hamster. Just not sure on the doors on it ( I am used to the ferplast big door) and this one has a small door on front and big on top, Do people just take the whole top off to get access to it.

But also getting c&c Grids soon aswell. Yes My place will be full of cages:(|)

I personally would go for the ferplast purely because of the far superior access

I've got bith, prefer the skyline. The skyline is sturdier and access isn't a problem.

We have the Skyline too but as a temporary cage and we have takent he lid off so it is more like a C&C. I have heard good things about the Ferplast though.

I’ve never used a skyline maxi but i have had a ferplast and i hated it, although the access was great, i spent ages scrubbing the base each time i cleaned my pigs out because it’s not a flat surface and it all just stuck in the nooks and crannies !

In the end it just became a good cat deterrent protecting the soil for my vegetables growing outside!

We have a skyline for winter time and I quite like it. Basic design but easy to clean and gives good access.

I have a Skyline Maxi 120 and it's great. I usually just lift up the whole front panel if I need more access than the small door allows. :)

The base is smooth too, for easier cleaning and since I use lots of newspaper and recycled paper bedding, this isn't a problem for the piggies feet.

I also have a Skyline maxi cage and I love it's size but I can't get my big boar out through the front door it has(As he spreads himself out when I try to lift him through it) so I use the door on the top of the cage as it's much bigger and more comfortable for us both. But it's a breeze to wash though as it almost as tall as me I struggle a little :)):))
I hear that Ferplast are more sturdy but are more costly.

Thanks everyone for replies, It is one of my options but the cage wont be in use for a while untill get more guinea pigs :(|)

I might get it on tuesday but not sure what i am getting yet, but will be pet related

It is also possible to add a hayloft to the skyline using a C and C grid and correx.

Awwww I might do this myself. Do you have any piccys?

I have some old ones but will need to find them. The cage isn't in use at the moment. If you search in here for a thread about Nigel syringe flinging it may have a video on it which shows the hayloft. Am on my phone at the mo.
