I hate it, yeah it looks lovely and warm and comes in funky colours but I've only had it around 2 weeks and it gets dirty within 2 days, seems to be always wet and well i don't know... I really wanna revert back to hay and wood shavings, I never had a problem with them and just changed *** I'd read about breathing problems accuring and well the guinea's got bumble food a few times. Fleese is horrid too... I've tried both, it gets dirty so fast and I really can't keep washing it at 50p a wash and what happens if my washing machine breaks? I'm a student, I couldn't afford a new one now Social aren't involved with me anymore. So... Does anyone else have any suggestions to what I could possibly change to? Africa can't have complete hay because he gets hayfever so that isn't an opition either altho it looked cleaner longer and was probs very warm.

Thanks :...

Have you looked at all the stickys about bedding? Here it is:
http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=9

I'm currently using megazorb, newspaper and hay. I find it works well for me and is cheap i order from this site http://www.gjwtitmuss.co.uk/HORSEBE...RTHERNCROPDRIERSMEGAZORBBEDDING2D85LITRES.asp

I do only have 2 pigs and the sacks last me ages, i always order 2 to save on postage as its works out £9.40 per sack. Their maybe a farm shop or horse supplies near you that stock it so you will save on postage, i dont have one near me.

I was thinking of trying fleece soon.

Hope you find something you like. :)

Sorry I don't have any advice but I know what you mean about the vetbed, I used it and it was soaked and dirty really quickly, what's annoying is I now have £50 worth of vetbed laying around in the shed that I can't do anything with.

I've had issues with vetbed too. I chopped it up in smaller pieces and put it in and on top of hideys and change every day. That way it can fit in the fleece load because it's not so much it's really bulky.

That's a good idea skrikopanik what I've done is put a piece on top of one on my boar's cage, I don't know if this works, but I thought it kept some of the wind off (There's a hole in my guinea-pig shed so until it gets fixed I'm trying to keep them extra warm)

I've been told my vetbed isn't really vetbed which sucks. I mean it's what they said on eBay it was so... does that mean I should complain?!
I think I've found a Megasorb seller just outside my town... so hopefully I'll ring them in the new year and find out if they sell it, what prices and how big the bags are and hopefully my sisters boyfriend MIGHT help me go get it since I'm carless.

I can't understand your problems with Vetbed.I love mine!
I find it keeps my two lovely and warm and dry.I change mine about every third day,but could probably leave it longer if i wasn't so fussy.I remove the poos twice a day,and do not get any mess. After three days it feels slightly sticky in places, which is why i change it.
I wash the Vetbed in the bath, because it won't go in the washing machine, and this is hard work, but quite economical.

I have to say I find vetbed the best bedding, mine always stays dry on top and the wee goes to the bottom and stays there, so I dont find any problems with it. Yes it is a pain to wash as I cant fit many into the washing machine at the same time, but I wouldn't change back to shavings now

I recommend megazorb...Though i'm lucky to have a horse feed suppliers just up the road where i can get my horse feed and a bag of megazorb for the pig's and buns too.

Mine seem fine on vetbed and fleece. I do put a litter tray (with megazorb in) with there hay rack over the top so the tend to eat and do there business in there and sleep on the fleece/vet bed..or in there sleeping bags...ok there are sum accident's but i'm very lucky with mine...I've kinda litter trained them...still there not as litter trained as the buns ;-).
