I have just been reading all your posts about vet bed and really want to go and buy some. Would it work in an outside cage.

They sleep on

Newspaper - Puppy Pad - Newspaper - Wood shavings and then hay

I was thinking of changing to

Newspaper - Fleece - puppy pad - vet bed - hay

Do you think this will work?

Also apart from using wood shavings, megazorb, care fresh is there anything else that can be put down in there living area? I use newspaper and woodshavings at the moment.

I don't see why not. Vetbed are really absorbent i just put newspaper under my pigs Vetbed does the trick. Hay is a bit of a pain but give a good shake and brush usually gets most off before it goes in the washing machine.

It could work, just be careful and check that it's dry and not at all damp at night, especially if it's cold. Also the hay will stick to it, but if you don't mind that that's fine :)

I used it last summer outside and it worked well :) But I didn't use it in the winter cos I thought it would get damp.

Though I would do newspaper, puppy pad, fleece, then some vet bed at least in the sleeping area.
