I'm thinking of swapping to this.

Do you have to put anything underneath it or is it ok on its own?

Does it wash in the machine well?

And is it flat like a fleece would be or is it the fluffy type stuff?
I can only find fluffy stuff in the local petshops. Been browsing on Ebay and it looks flatter. Imagine that the flat stuff would be easier to keep clean. Am I making sense? :x

TIA

hello, i bought some last week, and its better than fleece i think. i put newspaper underneath, but some people like to put towel under also.
its thicker than fleece, mines about 2 cm thick, but my piggys love it.... the sprawl all over it with chicken legs popping out all over :)):))

Even thought it is thicker than fleece, it does sweep fine with a hand brush and i washed mine on a 40 wash and tumbled also on a low heat :)

We put paper at the moment, but trying some new stuff this week, that is meant to be great, will let you know how good it is.

Yes it washes fine, but does get hay in the machine, but we are getting some cases to put it in to help with that.

It's flat and soft on their feet.
Got our massive roll from eBay and it was about £60 and we got loads from it

Well have used the pads for three days now and boy what a difference. The vetbed is bone dry. So it was Hoover up poo, quick sort out re hay and job done.

Very impressed so far.

I love vet bedding and the piggies don't complain either rolleyes
I only pop a fleece blanket underneath where they wee more but can leave the bedding for up to a week except for the herd of girls who have to be changed after 3-4 days - hoover bits of hay and poops away then stuff it in the washer :) Some of the pieces I have are 7ft long so have to wrestle it in, the rubber backed kind is easier as you can fold it but the green backed is stiffer and swear the washer moans when I open the door armed with it...:))
Jeff has some nice colours and will get larger pieces from the wholesalers if you ask:

Another good supplier I use is this one:

This company do it too but a bit pricey for small pieces but gives you an idea of the thickness - I love the white one and have just placed an order for another 30ft :x

i've never looked back since starting to use vetbed. i ordered some more last tuesday on next day delivery - i'm still waiting for it! struggling to get replies to my emails too. it is great stuff though. i just put newspaper underneath mine.

This is what we just got for under the vetbes, very impressed so far

Probably the Bank Hol delays - I had to buy more pellets last week too as the usual monthly order took longer than usual :o Was down to the dreggs in the bag :... Bugged me to pay £5 for a 2k bag when I get 20k for £25 per month ;)
Who do you use for your bedding Sally if you don't mind me asking ")

i've finally had an email back saying the courier left a card at my house on 7th june and they had not heard back from me. well how can i contact them when there is no such card at my house! on this ocassion i have used jmpetbedsonline on ebay- the second one you mentioned. i think they hadn't sent it to be honest with you. they told me they have asked the courier to deliver it tomorrow for me. i would imagine they have only just got round to posting it. it is a 24hr delivery service. think i'll be asking the driver tomorrow if they have tried to deliver before. if this is the case, i wish people would just be honest and admit to making a mistake. i would respect them more if they did.

Had the same issue with the pellets - arranged delivery for Wednesday and it never arrived so contacted them and said no one was home :{ Rearranged for Friday and it turned up then received an email saying no one was home again ?/ mallethead
jmpbedsonline are usually really good - sorry you're having problems with them. If it's Parcel Force (or Farce as I refer to them) or Yodel, both of these couriers are c**p :o
Frustrating I know ?/

We use shredded newspaper under the vet bed - it absorbs wee better than unshredded stuff, you just lift the VB and take out the wet paper.

The VB gets washed once a week, so we have two pieces on rotation. Will need to get more now they are living in separate runs!

i finally got my vetbed. it turned out to be the couriers who of course blamed the company who i had purchased it from. i was concerned that they had not sent it as it was taking a while to hear back from them but they had sent it on the day they had told me - so very sorry jmpbedsonline for thinking this - anyway i have it now and yes it was yodel! the vetbed is of a high quality and is just what i needed.

Sorry to highjack your thread but is the "PnH" vetbed any good compared to the original vet bed? Reason I ask is there seems to be a lot of it around and I am going to need a 3m roll of it and its so much cheaper than buying a roll of the original stuff!

Yes yodel are rubbish! I was waiting on a Christmas gift being couriered to me by yodel. After a week or so of hearing nothing it turns out the courier couldn't find our address so just kept it at their house! We had to go and collect it ourselves! Not using them again! :o

I am also thinking of vetbed, am finding the megazorb expensive, cos we have to pay 7pound delivery as well, love vetbed for the pups I foster so am gonna try it for the piggies, my only worry is does the hay stuff up the washing machine.. also do * just sweep the poop off daily..
