Hi, I’m a New Guinea pig owner with gorgeous male guinea pigs. I haven’t got a vet for them yet but I would like to know what a resenable price would be for a checkup for both of my guinea pigs. Could I have some advice please?

Hello and welcome to the forum. You might need to give more detail on your location as we have members from all over the world. The forum is predominantly UK though and in my experience the check up can range between £15 and £50 just for the consultation. If you want to see an exotics specialist be prepared to pay more for everything (not always a huge amount more but more than a "general" vet). Though some general vets focus their specialisms on small animals so you may not need an exotics vet. I use a "general" vet who are very interested in and very knowledgeable on piggies and they are also honest in when they need to refer me to the specialist for more complex conditions

It depends on where abouts in the UK you are. I'm guessing roughly £30-£40.

It costs us around £23 in Stafford but around £16 with our discount. The vets are very good with the piggies though so it’s worth it
