Can those with some experience of URI treatment from a vet confirm this is correct treatment. Unfortunately my vets have limited knowledge of guinea pigs I think. I may be wrong but just want to be sure.

The vet gave an antibiotic injection that would last for 24 hours so I started the Baytril the next day. I was to give 0.12mls twice a day. This lasted for 3 and a half days.
I just ran out and have asked for a couple of days extra because I think she is almost there but not quite so he is writing out another script for 3 days worth. Should he have given me a bit more at the time he gave me the antibiotic or is this the correct amount of days to have given me? So all up he gave 1 days worth antibiotic in injection form and 3 and half days in liquid form. 4 and a half days antibiotics, all up for treatment of Upper respiratory infection.
What do you guys think?

My vets usually give a week of antibiotics then a review. That can then sometimes lead to an extension of the course or a change of antibiotic.

Thanks for that, Yes I thought he had been a bit tight on the antibiotic. You should have seen the mingy bit he put in the bottle. Fortunately he gave me some more and didn't charge much for it. I could tell the lady at the desk thought he had been too generous and pointed out to me he hadn't charged me a dispatch fee. I felt like pointing out he had been too tight in the first place, but I held my tongue.
