Adult Guinea Pig
Not quite sure where to put this thread...
I am planning on going away for about a week this summer so I wanted to get Cocoa and Oreo in to see the vet for their first check up. I adopted them in July from a rescue and they had a vet visit before I adopted them. I called the vet Monday and they said that the whole month of May is already booked. It is all filled with exotic animals that are sick or injured. They don't know when they will be able to do well checks on animals again. Apparently, they have been talking with the other exotic vet office and other non-exotic offices and they are all swamped too.
I plan on reading through Wiebke's care guides so I am prepared. The office said if my piggies were to get sick or injured, I would have to care for them till they have an opening in June. I don't know why, but this is stressing me out! I know the piggies are doing well, but with as much trouble that I had trying to get Oreo in to the vet for her hay poke, all the non-exotic vets said they wouldn't treat that, I hope that I would be able to care for them as best that I can.
With this news, I changed who I was planning on caring for Cocoa and Oreo while I am gone. My sister is much more piggy savy than my sister-in-law or friends. I guess I'm just venting as there really isn't much to be done about the situation. Here is some piggy spam of handsome Cocoa and the beautiful Oreo.
