I recently took my Guinea pig Gus to the vet, and the vet cut his back nails too short. He was bleeding a lot and it eventually stopped bleeding. I put some ointment on his nail to prevent infection. He hasn’t come out of his hutch. I just put food by his house to eat. He is still eating
, but he isn’t walking as much. I’m wondering if he will be okay?

I am pretty sure Gus will be fine, particularly if it was the vet who cut his nails.
Same thing happened once where my Finn bled a lot when I was cutting his nails, and Finn is 5 years old now. My Finn resists a lot and I mean A LOT! He is a little fighter.

I always try to cut very little, and do it frequently. I also give him a breaks in between cutting his nails and not cut all his nails at one time. Finn gets a baby carrot after his nails cuts. He also gets treats after his bum baths and haircuts.

Good luck!

He will be okay, I've done it accidentally before too. It will heal pretty quickly, but as long as it's not bleeding profusely or constantly it's okay. If it's bleeding still you can dip his nail in styptic powder, or even flour which is what I used before in a pinch when I didn't have styptic powder and it worked. Make sure to keep his cage clean to prevent infection but other than that I wouldn't worry too much.

It will be sore but he should be ok,
You say recently - when did it actually occur?

It was August 8. He is walking, eating, and drinking fine. He’s a bit more aggressive now though and more scared of me. I noticed that he was be laying down in his hutch and he was be whining like he’s in pain

If he appears to be in pain then I can only recommend that you have him checked by a vet again.
I hope he is ok

Update he is doing fine now. He stopped whining as much, and he’s gone back to his usual behavior. He’s no longer scared when I approach him. I believe he was just shooken up from what happen, buts he doing good now :)
