Vet bed in the shed....

So after only 2 weeks of using a mix of megazorb and shavings on the shed floor, I've decided I really don't like it and wanted my pretty vet bed back lol.

My order arrived today and I've just kitted out the shed with the new floor this evening. The piggies don't know what's hit them lol. :))

Here's a photo taken minutes after they were introduced to their renovated pad. I hadn't even put their veggies in yet! (that's what goes in the big blue dish). All you can make out is a few bums I'm afraid as they were far too busy checking out the re-arranged furniture to pose for photos. :))

At the side, you can see the gorgeous custom ramp tunnel made by the lovely Helen at Cosy Cavies. She actually made me two, the second one isn't in use yet as I have to adjust where I'm going to position it.

how do you clean it i have a shed 8x6 my guineas are free range and have the floor i use one big fleece and wash it every other day and clean poos and such daily
 
Well I haven't tried yet lol, but the ones I use in the hutches go in the washing machine once a week.

I have two large pieces for the shed floor, I don't think they are going to go in my machine so will have to take them to the launderette and use the big washer there. Failing that, I'll have to cut them into smaller pieces.

I'm using disposable puppy training pads underneath, so they can just go in the bin when they're used.

I hope to get away with washing weekly and spot cleaning the poops every day. :)
 
Oooh how lucky are your piggies :)) mine are currently lounging on their vet bed too...
 
It looks brill and bet you have some very happy piggies :))
The largest pieces I use are 6ft x 3ft and it just goes in the washer with a bit of wrestling, if you roll it lengthways then fold in half, should get it in with a good push :x
I find I can leave vet bed for a week in the pens with 2 or 3 piggies but change the herd every 4-5 days.
Glad you're happy with the bedding Becky - we love it here and I'd never use anything else now :)p
 
I got free range gp,they use my living room....
The most important they not use floor as toilet,not even for poop.
They use some vet bed for it,which I change wash regularly.
 
lol I have just ordered a large roll of vet bed for mine as I think it will be warmer! can't wait for it to arrive! Your Sheds lookin fab!
