I want to switch to vet bed but I am having a hard time to find the size I need I need just over 1 meter by 3 metres. The problem is that is very expensive at over £100. I looked on amazon, ebay and googled all the sites that sell it. Does anybody have any advice? Maybe somebody knows a more reasonable place to get it from. Also, I would not want brown or white and ideally would like pink or lilac as they look lovely. I know I sound so fussy!

I buy my vetbed from Ebay, but as I only have two 120cm cages then I can buy a lot less than what you would require. That does seem an awful lot of money. I've had mine a good few months now so I can't remember exactly how much I paid, but I think it was approx. £15-20 per roll. Sorry, that's not very helpful for you!

Just a quick tip too (you may have already thought of it) - buy a washbag (or something similar) to wash the vetbed in as it'll stop the hay clogging up your washing machine.

I've used this seller many times, all very good so far.
There are a few on ebay if you just put vet bed in the search box, it's an idea to order a larger piece to cut for washing and one to use.
I have lots of colours and designs, in fact, some of the 'cheaper' suppliers have proven to be the better bedding. I paid over £8 per foot last year from a shop as I ran short as we had extended the pens and it is not the best I've got :(

Can you get a piece that size in the washing machine? My washing machine capacity is quite big but I really don't think I'd get that into it!

:)) There is a knack of folding and wrestling vet bed into a washer. The largest pieces I have are 7ft long but as piggyfan says, it is easier to cut it in half :)
I air dry mine and then pop it in the dryer for 5 minutes - our piggies love it and point blank refuse to put a paw on the base of the pens whilst deep cleaning until fresh bedding is down rolleyes It's comical to watch, it's almost like seeing a cat put a paw into water to test it and backing off ...:)

Lol pampered piggies!

I quite often wash the vet beds seperate from the other pigs washing as it does have a mind of its own when putting it in the machine, its still stiff enough to fight me and I dont mind doing two washes per pen - with the fleeces and beds I rather two smaller loads than over load the machine
