Sorry about the rather vague thread title - I wasn't sure how to pack it all in!

Basically Lettie has been very very vocal all day, and has been doing laps pretty much all day too....
She is a vocal piggy anyway, but she has chirruped and beeped constantly for the majority of the day, and all night too.

We have cleaned her out, changed her water and food (for fresh) given her greens and had her out for cuddles and floor time to no avail!
Normally when we have cuddle time she bobbles around for a while, and then settles down for a good snooze, but today it has been like trying to hold onto a hamster on speed!

She is bright and happy, no visible problems, just that she has been at the redbull in a big way!

We are worried that either she is in first stage labour (although I have never seen a piggy do anything like this and I've had a lot of pregnant piggy's!) and that she will have her pup and then freak out because of the pup in her pen... I'm thinking of sleeping out in the living room with her tonight - am I mad?

Any idea's anyone? xx

I hope that Lettie is still OK today? Sows can be so very different when highly pregnant, and there is not one firm signal that says that they are ready to give birth.

My Minx was living up to her mist well deserved name the day before she gave birth in that she managed to sneak back into the living room (while on a her usual roam in the hall) and climb up a vase with sunflowers. She discovered stair climbing as a hobby only 10 days before she gave birth.Talk about heart attacks! Thankfully, she was a decent mum to her two babies!

Thanks for the well wishes @Wiebke :-)

Lettie is far more 'normal' today, munching on her hay and sitting in her food bowl eating poo's - she's a classy bird!

I'm wondering if the baby was turning or her pelvic ligaments were laxing internally?

Difficult to say, as we can only guess at best!... I could also be a sudden hormonal spike. But you must be relieved that things have calmed down somewhat again.

Having been driven mad yesterday buy her constant circling and mental behaviour, it is certainly more restful today!
It doesn't stop me worrying now that she is very quiet! Never satisfied hey! haha!
I will certainly be glad when all the litters are born and I can relax for a nano second! xx

You can;t help but worry! I sincerely hope that all goes well!

I must say, as a reformed breeder, the last 2 lots of pregnant piggies I have taken in have caused me more stress than all of the litters I had when I was having litters for sale and show!
I think it's because these guys aren't meant to be pregnant, they are babies and should be having a nice settled life instead of being mums so young.

Thank you guys, for opening my eyes to the world of piggies without having litters, I have always loved my pigs, but these guys somehow mean more to me! x
