New Born Pup
Hi all, I'm new to the forum this evening. I come in desperate measures and very sad circumstances. I have just posted this same post in the introductions sorry, as not seen this health thread. I've copied and pasted it into here hoping for some feedback. X
Since September my 15 month old male boar started to have diarrhoea mushy type and would make a squeak noise when pooping. He has been in a hunch position, fluffed up, eyes looking tired, basically poorly, sleeping more yet still eating but losing incredible amount of weight. I put him on oxbow critical care feeding 3 times a day and took him the vet who prescribed baytril for 2wks and some meticam for pain relief. Being on the oxbow and limiting veggies his poop returned back to normal. Still hunched up, fur fluffed, tired eyes, hiding and sleep lots. He then urinated blood followed by a clear urination straight after which was odd. 2 weeks of baytril and him so thin his diarrhoea returned again. The vet never did a scan or xray or any bloods and is blaming the covid saying they are restricted to so things. Saying that this is likely a chronic issue and it wont get better. I went to see another vet who basically said the same, said extremely underweight, very sick, not sure what the issue is that is causing it but mentioned a few intestinal diseases. Give another 7 days of baytril and he is still the same. He makes an noise when he need to poop which is still mushy. He has lost all his body fat
basically can feel all his bones. He is sleeping lots, hiding away. Vet suggested putting him to sleep and I'm just devastated for him. His brother sleeps next to him to make sure he is okay and nudges him in the blanket to make sure he is still alive. How is he going to be with out him. He is suffering but at the same time what if it is reversible. Has anyone heard of the same symptoms and have a inclin of what it could be.? I've phoned a different vet that's 3 now and this one said they could offer a xray at the cost of £385 not including consultation fee of £58 and then they said and if nothing shows are you okay with that. Do I do this I'm heartbroken.
