Hi, my oreo has always loves a cuddle but a couple of days ago he started biting our faces, necks fingers and ears this is not little nibbles either this is fully on painful biting and in some cases hanging on and not letting go :( .
This happened totally out of the blue and Is very odd behaviour.
He's has always give a one little nip on our hands to say please 'put me back' or 'I've had enough now' and we don't mind this and we always but him back straight away when he does this, but his biting has very suddenly taken a painful turn for the worse :( please can any one help me understand why he would do this :(
We don't have to be fussing him at the time he does this, and this can happen at anytime during lap time even as soon as we have sat down with him.
Many thanks Kell.

Hope you can get to the bottom of this. Garfuncle went though a phase of biting for no apparent reason if he saw your hands but grew out of it in a few weeks.

It went away as quickly as it came on but if he was having lap time and he saw out hands he would get up and nip them. He nipped my partner between her thumb and finger on night. A few night later he was back to his old self and the biting stopped. Maybe it's hormonal!

Sorry no suggestions. I only have one biter, we know exactly what causes him to bite & can avoid it. Perhaps it is the recent change in his housing. I've heard that some piggies don't like changes to their routines, tastes, smells, noises, even textures & so on. He may just need time to settle into his new surroundings. ..

Thank you Lilly, they are new to all this as 3 of my boys are only 7months old :) ive just weighed them and 3 have a tiny weight loss eg alex was 1130 now 1124 I had to remove him from oreo last week due to a nasty fight. oreo (the one this thread is about) has been poorly has Hes gone from 784g to 813g in a week (I weigh my boys each Friday) this is fantastic as he had losses weight due to being ill.
They love being outside they seem soooo happy out there, they are really subdued inside :( maybe next winter I can buy them a large shed with a big window and keep them outside that way :)

I am no expert but I wonder if it is to do with his age. He is now a piggy teenager and may be rebelling. If it were me I would blow on him when he bites as piggies do not like that. I hope he goes back to his usual cuddly self.

Yes my vet suggests blowing softly in their face when they bite.

Thank you ladies, I'm hoping it is his age as this is so odd for him to this even more so to me as hes a mummy's boy. I will try blowing in his face thank you for that tip :)
