I currently have two boars, Ruffle and Magnum, aged 18 months and 6 months respectively. There are no problems with them getting on, luckily they have never so much as growled at each other.
Ruffle has always been a very vocal guinea pig, with a very loud squeak. If you forget to feed him, he soon tells you! But recently the squeaking is completely over the top, it sounds like someone is torturing him! I have checked him over and he doesn't appear to be ill or injured, he has food, hay and water, and Magnum is not bothering him.
The noise is really quite annoying at times, and my husband (an animal hater) is complaining bitterly about it.
Is it a sign that he is unhappy in some way, or is he just being a little so and so?
By the way, they live in a 2x5 c&c cage, inside, in the kids playroom. They have lived there since we got Magnum nearly 6 months ago as I thought he was too young to live outside at the time, and they ended up staying in for the autumn and winter.
