I got the keys to my new house today and went straight there to sort out the shed ready for the guinea pigs. Well, when i looked at the house a few weeks ago i didnt really take in the size of the shed. But i was amazed today at how big it actually is. My 5 x 2 grid c and c fits in with plenty of room left over and i could probably get another one in next to it which is good to know:p
Anyway i set up my lots home and left them to it for a couple of hours to settle, went back around 7pm to give them their fresh veg and to put their heat pads in and leave them for the night. It will be their first night outside as they are indoor pigs up till today, I'm a bit worried about them but the shed seems surprisingly warm and I'm sure with their pads and hay they will be fine.

Just thought i would let you all know anyway. 8)8):)):))

oOOoo lucky piggies, glad they've settled in well and are enjoying their swish new piggie palace! :) Hehe and i can imagine the spare space being filled with some new piggies soon :))

What fabulous news! In our shed we have a hutch and lots of houses and boxes for them to snuggle in. Just make sure you up your food rations as they will use up more energy living outside. We put a piggy height barrier a few inches inside the door so thay they had the whole shed to play in but we could open the door with fear of escapees!

Following what Roomily said, we've used our old run top as a barrier it fits perfectly and is at a height that the piggie cant escape / our dog cant run into the shed :) If you have some chicken wire and any pieces of wood lying around you could try making a mini make shift piggie barrier! :)

Yeah i eventually want them to have the run of the shed, but need to find a suitable hutch to go in there or have the imagination the rebuild my c and c. I'm adding to my clan again on tues with 2 new girls, so will be sorting it out on my days off this week i think. Thanks for the advice on upping their food rations:)
