I regularly take in rescue animals, and am used to animals who have been treating badly etc,

But I resently rescued a guinea pig called mocha, he was dumped outside a pets at home, he is like no guinea pig I've had before, he is squeeking constantly, and bites when you pick him up, I have to where iron filled like headwear gloves to handle him, ive had several bites before I started using the gloves, he is such a gourgous guinea pig, but I'm out of ideas on how to help him :/

any advice?

here he is...

Oh my god he is gorgeous...such a shame about his temperament. It makes you think, just what has he been through to make him that aggressive towards people :(. Poor lad. I hope you can help him out and get him to trust you. He is such a gorgeous little chappy x)

Poor gorgeous boy! He must have been through Hell!

How long have you had him for? Is he alone or has he got company? He sounds really extreme; I think the best thing is wearing gloves and handing him when in a cuddle bag, so he can feel safer.

about 3 or 4 months and no his on his own, i have another male but he dosnt get on with other males, and I'm no way risking putting them together! lol

i handle him in a towel but he bites straigh threw it :/

OUCH! That is a real problem indeed...

One special needs guinea pig at a rescue centre i went to bit as his mother had problems giving birth. he could bite because of that. maybe if you give him a chunk of his fave food, put him on a pillow etc then stroke him while he is on the cushion.

x
