Hi guys!
I've read a lot about how much guinea pigs should be eating of veg and nuggets but I've read a lot of different things so I'm a bit confused.

Vegetables
What food can they eat daily? And how much veg should they be having each day?

Nuggets
The nuggets that I have suggest 60grams per guinea pig per day. I have a measure cup from pets at home but this seems a lot - is this right and how should I be giving them?

Since bringing them home Christmas Eve I've made sure they always have their Timothy hay and I've slowly introduced their nuggets giving them in the morning. I try to put a few different piles about so they all get opportunity to eat (I have 3 8 week old boars) and I give them vegetables once in the morning and once in the evening but I have no idea how much vegetables they should be having?

Thanks!

Also, is this okay for guinea pigs? I know it's suggested for them but I've read a lot about salt licks not being good even though they're marketed for guinea pigs so I'm a bit wary! Thank you!

Mine love the dandelion salad mix. They have a treat bowl which is filled weekly with a mix of stuff like that. They get a generous helping of hay every morning and an assortment of vegetables whenever I can give them. If I know I will be out all day they have a handful of veggies with breakfast. If I come home during the day they’re squeaking for more as soon as they hear the key in the door so some days their veggies are spread throughout the day, otherwise it’s mid to late afternoon.. I give them roughly a pasta bowl a day for 3 piggies.
They get 2 handfuls if nuggets each morning which seems to be more than enough.
Sorry this is a rather long reply. Hope it helps.
I’m sure others will also have good advice to share

The recommended ratio of food groups:
- ca. 80% hay
- 10-15% veg and fresh herbs (ca. 1 cupful / 50g / nearly 2oz)
- 5-10% pellets (amount depending on the age)
- plenty of fresh water daily

We feed ours this roughly

Morning:
Cucumber -1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Celery - 1 stick between 3 chopped up small
1/6th of Red/Green/Yellow Bell Pepper (de-seeded)

Evening:
Cucumber 1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Two Little Gem Lettuce leaves or 10 sprigs Coriander. Twice a week we will swap in cabbage or parsley

We also add in to the above diet carrot, sweet potato, celery leaves and a few other things occasionally

Some folks on the forum are really clued up... so pick up advise where you can and have a look in the food section here for ideas on diet Food

I've gotta admit to being lazy about pellets because I'll fill the bowl and leave them to it. I'll refill it when it empties but that takes several days, so they still don't overfeed on them.

Veggies wise I feed a mix of salad leaves (spinach, mizuna, rocket, lambs lettuce etc), lettuce (little gem, sweet gem or romaine), bell pepper, coriander, parsley, spring greens, curly kale, cucumber, and occasionally baby parsnip, thyme, parsley and mint.

I give my piggies 1/8th of a cup of nuggets daily and I feed them a selection of bell peppers, cucumber, celery, coriander, little gem lettuce or lettuce leaves and parsley as a treat
