Peanut had what looked like mucus or perhaps some thin tissue covered in mucus (couldn't tell for sure) come out of her this afternoon. I've seen our other girls have a bit of vaginal mucus and my vet assured me this is normal as long as it's not a lot, not discolored, very frequent, etc. This was an amount about the size of one of those erasers that is affixed to the top of a pencil. It didn't seem to hurt her. Weight is stable and she's eating, peeing, pooing, behaving normally. Vet is closed for the day. I will call them in the morning.

Hi

Please do not panic but have her reproductive tract checked in the coming days; it may or may not be indicative of a potential problem. If you can, please take a picture to show your vet.

Thank you Wiebke. Definitely trying not to panic. We did take a picture of the discharge to show the vet, but thank you for the suggestion. We have an appointment for another piggy next week. Hopefully we can bring Peanut then too. Would love to have her seen even sooner, but I doubt they'll have availability. We'll see. Thank you again.

Around 3 years ago my now Rainbow Piggy Velvet had a discharge that looked like this:-

I took her to the vet and it was a UTI. The vet checked her reproductive tract and gave her an X ray just to check it wasn't anything sinister.

Hope you can get Peanut seen soon.

Just so you can see Velvet properly instead of just her girly bits, here she is.

Velvet was :yikes: :yikes:DA BOSS:yikes::yikes: and a very formidable and very dominant girl if you were a piggy what she said went. No argument. If you were a Slave she was a very huggable, loving, licky pig.

Thank you for sharing. Hopefully, it is something along the lines of a UTI or something else treatable. We will see what the vet says. Your RB piggy Velvet looks like a lovely piggy, formidable as she may have been, she's a pretty piggy. How they pack so much personality into such little bodies I'll never understand.

Peanut is scheduled to see the vet on April 14th. Our other piggy Suzy has an appointment then as well so we can get both seen at the same time. Peanut still seems happy and is behaving normally though we are keeping a close eye on her. Will keep this thread updated with any new info as it comes.

Peanut was seen at the vet today. The vet said that based on the picture, it appears to be a mix of cellular and mucosal discharge. Because it was once and she appears to be acting normally then we are going to monitor for now. However, the vet talked to us about what it could be and what treatment options might be if she has more issues from antibiotics up to and including spaying. So we'll keep a close eye on her.
