Hi,
The vet gave me endofloxacin(.4 ml twice a day) for my guinea pigs UTI, and meloxidyl(.3 ml once a day) for the pain. I'm wondering which order to give these in and if it matters. Also, the vet said there might be a cause to the UTI such as stones, what would be the course of treatment for this and cost?

It doesn’t matter but you do need to know that once a day for painkillers isn’t usually enough. Piggies metabolise their pain meds in around 12 hours so need pain meds twice a day.

A UTI is a bacterial infection which is treated with antibiotics. With any luck that is what it is and he will feel better after treatment.

If he has stones then they would need to be diagnosed by x ray and then surgery would be needed to remove them. Boars are rarely able to pass stones as they have an awkward angle in their urethra which unfortunately means stones can get stuck which is then an emergency and life threatening situation.
For the cost you would need to speak to your own vet. Costs in the US are very different to here in the UK and all vets have their own charging structures.

Ok thank you! They only gave me enough for once a day, should I just do it for 2.5 days instead of 5 or do it once a day for 5?
Also, around how far apart should I give the two doses of endofloxacin?

You need the vet to change the prescription and give you more if his pain is not being managed. We cannot tell you what you should do, and you should not halve the dose yourself as it can then make each half too small and not do anything. He will need painkillers for as long as it takes for him to get better.
A more normal course of treatment for a UTI is 7-10 days so for him to only be on meds for 5 days may not be enough so you will need to keep an eye on his symptoms and stay in touch with your vet

the antibiotic needs to be given every 12 hours
