Junior Guinea Pig
I've tried fleece and towels, but my two boars are soooo messy weeing and pooing everywhere so within 24 hours it is really smelly and wet through and my boars are indoor pigs, so I can't really use that, plus I can't keep up with the laundry changing them daily.
I've tried puppy pads too but it's the same as above and the piggies eat them all up!
I've been using woodshavings for 5 months which seems to control the smell and absorbs the wee so they're never wet, but i can't imagine it's too comfortable and the dust must get on their throats. Also they seem to get up the boys' willies and it's not nice for them when I have to pull it out.
So, yesterday I put a thick layer of hay on the flooring, nothing underneath apart from newspaper and it seems to be doing a mighty fine job.
Is it ok to keep on using hay for the boys' flooring?
Thanks in advance
