image.webp ive ordered this adorable little strawberry house for my guineas. The inside comes out so its easy to wash but I'm not sure whether or not I should put it in their hutch or have it out for when they have floor time and cuddles. What's your opinion?

Which size did you go for? Might get one for my piggies. There seem to be lots of comments about it being too small though those comments were by cat and dog owners.

I recently bought one from Amazon and at first I used it with the pad in.

After they peed and pooped a lot in it I decided to cut the floor out so it could sit directly over hay or fleece so it needs little cleaning now.
In the winter I am going to use it as an igloo and stuff it full of hay and put a snugglepad under it.
Though you can just wash the pad you get with it too.:)

Two piggies could easily fit in mine - though Chewy has it for himself as he lives alone at the moment.
It was this one "

I use mine in the cage. I never thought to cut off the bottom @smileyface:) ! I'm going to do that with mine. Even though the pad inside can be removed and washed it does get messy very quickly.

that's why I cut the bottom out - the pad ended up getting kicked up by the boys and then they'd just pee in the base anyway!
Will be buying more and doing the same as they are great to add a bit more warmth - maybe I could put one inside another larger one and then fill the gap between with hay so may an even toastier igloo when the winter hits? :hmm::clap:

I just got two of those, they arrived yesterday, be aware though that your piggies may chew the mat that goes inside, I covered my with fleece as one of out decided it would be nice to have a nibble

Considering buying some more at the end of the month :)

I generally find with hideys like this they are in them that much they need washing everyday may be worth having 2 so you have one in their cage while other is in wash or keeping it for floor time. Even the plastic ones need poop picking everyday.

:D I have round fleecy hides and mine have a bit of tough but flexible plastic ( such as oven liner) on the bottom with Zorb and fleece circles on top of it. That way the wee never reaches the bottom of the hide and its only the \\zorb and fleece circles that have to be washed - and I've got lots of those! You could do the same but just put the removable mat on top of the plastic. :tu: Plastic may get chewed though!

They are lovely in the cage etc but I will advise you of the mess they can get in to! Hair, wee and poo lol! As my piggies lived in theirs!

My piggies all of them, dig under them and lay under the bottom pillow part!

I get about three days out if their fleece pigloos before its wash time again. Mostly hair and wee though as mine don't tend to poo in there very often. But there is a general dusty cream colour over the light blue fleece after a day - not sure if that is poo particles on dirty feat, bottoms being rubbed along the floor of it, or just wee stains. Maybe it's all three!

I found one of these in a charity shop this week, brand new (suspect not big enough for cat) for £5, I couldn't resist it. The boys love it, I made a couple of extra pads for the bottom out of old fleece blanket and some wadding. I'm not very good at sewing but they do the job. So far no wee in it, poop picked a few times though!

I've been looking at buying one each for my boys, what size did everyone go for ?

My boys love their strawberry houses too! I made some fleece liners to go inside on top of the mat provided which get changed every other day (they don't tend to poop in there). Now that it is getting colder at night I place a snugglesafe heat pad between the bottom pad and the fleece. I have just ordered some more to help with the turn around when the whole thing gets washed!

Here is Chocolate enjoying his!
