Hiya,
We were just wondering what the best way of getting rid of urine stains was. We have been scrubbing for ages trying to get it off but water doesn't sem to work and we don't want to use any chemicals incase is affects the pigs.

I have the exact same problem! I've broken fingernails trying to SCRATCH it off the cage. Nothing will get it off! Maybe someone else can help?

I found the flakey kind come away easy with baby wipes. Then I wash down with a white vinegar and lemon juice solution after to be extra careful of any chemicals from the baby wipes.

I soak in vinegar and give a good scrub afterwards it seems to make the cage whiter somehow too. I use vinegar around the house for cleaning and soaking burnt pot's too.

Also a fan of vinegar here.
Our local supermarket actually sells a special 'cleaning vinegar' in the cleaning products section!

They sell that here too but sometimes I wonder if it's not normal white vinegar labeled as "cleaning vinegar" so they can make more money lol.

It is a bit more expensive than regular white vinegar, but it is also a lot stronger - very astringent - and requires less to d the same job.
So I guess in the end it probably works out at a similar cost really.
