My guinea pig (1.5 years old, female) has some slight crustiness around her nose. She's been laying around more frequently than she usually does but aside from that is still acting normal (eating, drinking, etc). Her breathing also sounds normal. Could she possibly have a URI? I'm worried about that even though she only has some of the symptoms. I noticed these symptoms last night. The vets around me aren't open until tomorrow since it's Sunday where I am.

I would get her seen when your vets next have an appointment. In the meantime, you can start to weigh her once daily to keep an eye on her weight. When piggies are unwell, they often stop eating as much hay (the most important part of their diet). You can’t really tell how much is eaten just by eye.

Hope she perks up soon.
