Hi everyone,

My eldest girl, Penny, six and a half, has woke up this morning with crusty/watery eyes and a crusty nose. I can hear a funny noise in her lungs, I’m convinced it’s a URI. We are seeing the vet with her tonight, is there anything I can use to safely clean some gunk from her eyes? It just looks so uncomfortable and she keeps trying to wash her face.
So worried about her, she’s still eatinf and drinking but I don’t think it’s going to be good news at the vet given her age.

I am very sorry 😞 Good that you do have an appointment booked in as the sooner treatment starts for a URI. The better

As for cleaning the gunk from her eyes, you can use a dampened cloth x

Aw thank you Claire. We are just back from the vet, she said looks like we have caught it early and it’s a good sign she’s eating and drinking. The vet has given her eyedrops and antibiotics, fingers crossed xx
