Hi everyone!
My piggie has got a URI infection which was confirmed by the vet on Saturday. She said he had some on his lungs so gave me 2 lots of medications to give him day and night. However, he still seems to have that ‘weezy’ breathing. He is eating as normal (squeaking for tomato’s as always), weeing and pooing as normal, and drinking. If he’s still the same Saturday il be taking him back to the vets, but has anyone else had this with their pig? X x

What medication have you been given?
Do bear in mind that it will take a few days for antibiotics to even start working.

Ensure you weigh him daily so you can monitor hay intake more closely and step in with syringe feeding if there is any weight loss due to reduced hay intake

Good that he’s eating well but agree keep weighing as these can be difficult to shift and he needs to keep his strength up. It can take time - complete any course of antibiotics. If only prescribed for a week that might not be long enough and be ready to try another type if needed (you might need to push your vet if they aren’t experienced with GPs). Good luck 🍀

They have given me Baytril And Metacam… I’m going away on Sunday for a week and my brothers girlfriend is looking after him, so I’m nervous to leave him 🥺
