rolo has a uri again, and also a uti :no:
Her loxicom dosage is a 2.5kg dog dose once a day does this seem enough and frequent enough? as I’ve read to split into two doses 12 hours apart?

The dosage depends on her weight. it is easier to work out the dosage required in ml per kg of body weight but as your vet has used the dog syringe then its not so easy to convert back to ml (at least I can’t remember how it works out as it isn’t exact if I recall correctly when using the dog syringe)
Ideally your vet removes the dog kg syringe and gives you a normal 1ml syringe.
But yes piggy painkillers should really be given twice a day.

Also how much is the actual dose the syringe inside the box is in kg I’m so confused 😪
Would it be possible to pop back to the vet and have them (or a nurse) show you exactly?
My vet always marks the side of the syringe with a sharpie so I can't make a mistake.

Piggies have a very fast metabolism so yes, the painkiller should be given twice a day. I would just split the dose into two and try to administer it around every 12 hours.

I’ve rang up and they said it’s 2.5 on the syringe it just doesn’t seem a lot but they saying it’s fine

Have you got a 1ml syringe handy? I would ring the vet and ask what the dose is in ml too.
I asked for it in ml but they’re saying to use the syringe that came with it in kg and wouldn’t seem to ask the vet, so not sure what else to do, I just feel like it’s not enough. She weighs 1.1kg

Dog metacam is 3 times stronger than cat version so the dose will be smaller than compared to be given cat metacam.
The box always comes with a dog kg syringe. Dogs are dosed differently to piggies - piggies can take more painkiller per kg than compared to a dog.
My vets always dose in ml per kg of body weight, throw the dog kg syringe it comes with away and give me a 1ml syringe. Its fine to give it in the dog syringe but it means you won’t know exactly how much it is in ml

Thank you both for your help. I just had a moment of panic thinking I wasn’t giving her enough as she is in pain
