Piggles had a slight fall the other day and her top front teeth are broken. First she lost half of it but now the other half is hanging on by a thread. I'm not sure what to do, especially if she loses her entire top tooth. It was pretty manageable with her having half a tooth but I'm not sure what to do when/if she breaks off the other half. I already switched to a water bowl since piggles couldn't drink out a water bottle and she is drinking and eating normally but I'm worried about her.

Hi

Just for clarification - there is only one problem tooth that has broken twice?

In this case, the remaining single tooth will hold its own against the two opposite incisors until the broken tooth grows back. Incisors are ca. 4 cm back and curved. Their roots are sitting right in front of their grinding back teeth but their length and shape makes them rather prone to breaks.

If both upper (or lower) teeth are broken at the same time, then eating and drinking can become more problematic and you may need to cover for the reduced hay intake with recovery formula or mushed up pellets. The same also goes is if the remaining single upper (or lower) incisor is sitting loose and therefore no longer able to fulfill its job of picking up and cutting food.
