Long story short. My mum used the carrot bowl I use to put Doris' chopped up Vetmedin in to give Wills his veggies this morning. I can't remember exactly how many tablets were in there before but from what I can remember, one has possibly been eaten by him.

is there anything i can do?!

"Vetmedin capsules 1.25mg contain pimobendan, which sensitises the heart muscles to calcium, to increase the strength of muscular contraction; and also acts on the blood vessels to and from the heart causing them to widen (vasodilation), which reduces the pressure on the heart and helps it to pump more efficiently. Vetmedin 1.25mg is used to treat dogs with congestive heart failure caused by mitral valve disease (endocardiosis), due to degeneration of the heart valves, causing them to become leaky; or dilated cardiomyopathy, in which the heart becomes enlarged and cannot pump efficiently. From what I can find out there is nothing too much to worry about, make sure he has plenty of food as this reduces it impact - cabbage/kale will help blast through anything in his digestive tract too.

Don't fuss him, try to keep everything calm. His heart rate will probably increase with the meds so keeping things calm should help a bit.

You can phone the vet too, they are the ones with the experience.

Thats great news :) Glad everyone is okay :)

I once gave tablets to the wrong dog (and vetmedin was one of them) - they were wrapped in cold meat which helps my dog take them and the 'other' dog snaffled it.... I phoned the vet in a panic but was told just to keep an eye on her. Doesn't half make you panic though :))

Glad its all worked out fine for you too
