My male 7 months old guinea pig, Chubby, is the cutest thing that has ever happened to me.
He has been fine and healthy, and he still seems very fine and healthy and happy. He likes the sounds he hears all the time, including bells, which never fail to make him purr.
I signed up here and am posting this because I have started noticing not exactly a bald spot but definitely thinning in his hair in a vertical line above his nose, and now there seems to be a little more thinning a couple millimeters away from that spot, in a smaller vertical line as well. There are also some bumps on his nose that used to not be there.
I included some pictures to show you what his nose currently looks like. I hope they are clear.

It's worth making a vet appointment in case it's fungal or something.

In the meantime I wouldn't touch it and make sure to wash your hands after handling him, just in case.

It looks like the beginnings of fungal to me. Please see a vet tomorrow during the regular opening hours for a proper diagnosis and do not try to home treat on spec. Please do not treat before you have it seen by a vet; as any treatment will make a diagnosis more difficult. With the right treatment, fungal in the earlier stages can usually be got on top of pretty quickly and easily.

Be careful to use good hygiene, as some forms of fungal (specifically ringworm) can be transmittable to humans and other species pets. You will need to treat all guinea pigs in contact with the affected one. All forms of fungal thrive in warm, humid conditions.

That looks like the start of fungal infection to me. It's something that can be easily treated by the vet, but please don't try to home treat as it needs proper diagnosis and treatment. It is contagious so please take precautions when handling.

I agree it could be fungal and needs to be seen by a vet. Just as an aside, the "purring" at sounds is usually a bit of an alert, like "what was that? is it scary?" When they get used to sounds they stop the purring.
