Hi, I'm new here ive just discovered this website so I'm wondering if someone can help me but this may be a long post...
My son moved out last year and couldnt take his piggies with him so i now have the responsibility. He left 4 boys behind and somehow i agreed to rescue another 2 from a family member who needed to rehome her 2 boys.
I have the space so i took them now i have 6 boys.
I Turned my sons room into a piggie dream house. I custom built their home.
Heres my problem...
3 of them are happy together and have zero issues so they have their home and on the other side i have the other 3. In the other 3 bit, 2 of them dont get on. One is an 11 month old absolutly gorgeous Teddy breed who will not stop rumble strutting the other 2. He does this to the point where the other one who doesnt like him attacks him. Yet he keeps doing it.
Any advice? Thanx in advance.

Boars find it very difficult to form a bond when there is more than two of them. Boar trios and quartets are highly unstable and most don’t work long term. Adding piggies to stable boar pairs (or even if you are lucky enough to have a stable trio or quartet) can really rock the boat and unsettle things as they try to form a new hierarchy (mostly it won’t work).

Where the bond is not functioning and he is not getting on with them, then I'm afraid you have no option but to separate into a separate cage. He will need to live side by side with the others for interaction between the bars only.

Then id have one on his own wont he get depressed

No he won’t get depressed because his cage would need to be side by side with the others. They can interact through the bars which means he still has fully company but doesn’t have to share territory and attempt to form a bond with a piggy he isnt compatible with.
It is what must happen if the bond is not functioning and is the normal course of action. If left together and tensions rise, full fights with injuries can break out.

Do read the guides i linked in as they explain everything about this kind of situation.

Two of my boys fells out and they live happily side by side in separate cages.

How long have the "dysfunctional" 3 been together? And what is happening when the rumbler is "attacked" - is blood being drawn?

What size space do they have as well?

Character compatibility for any piggies is the key but all manner of other things do play a part too

Space for boars is so important and with a boar trio normal cage sizing rules go out the window and the space needs to be so much bigger. Three boars together need a cage measuring 300x100cm (to provide one square metre per piggy of territory within the cage) but even that won’t help if they are not compatible and two are attacking each other.

They have more than enough space i custom built their space plus built extra space above. The only way i could describe would be to take a picture, is that allowed on here?
The rumbling has injured the troublemaker and has drawn blood and hair, hence why I'm now here. The troublemaker is an 11 month old teddy breed and the other is a 2.5 year old american short hair

Yes you can add a picture once the ’attach files’ options becomes available to you once your registration completes (you will now this has happened as the button for attach files will show but also ‘new born pup’ will appear under your avatar).

If blood has been drawn though, then their bond is over I’m afraid. They do need to be separated.

A pair of boars need 180x60cm on a single level
A single needs a minimum of 120x60cm on a single level
(and as I say a trio need 300x100cm on a single level)

I have the attach files and the new born pup already so ill go take pictures. Its a lot bigger than 300x100

I’m afraid the amount of space won’t matter if they have actually injured each other. They need to be separated regardless of the cage size when fights and injuries have occurred

So does this mean you have one set of three piggies in one side in the 220x100cm, and the other set of three piggies in the other side (the 180x110cm side)?

Which side does the three who are not getting on live in?

As I said though, if two of them have been fighting, then one of them needs to be removed and live in a separate but side by side cage. The cages of need to be wire sided so they can see through to each other. I notice yours are solid sided so you may have to do a bit of reworking somewhere so there can be through the bar interaction with the piggy who is living in an cage alone.

No, thats all one cage. There is a tunnel inbetween the 2 bits. 3 of them live there

I see! So you can block up the tunnel so you can keep one on one side and the other two can live in the other side and still be able to interact through the wire grid sections.

What do the other three live in?
