We recently lost my first guinea pig who had a c and c cage while my other two had the largest shop bought cage I could find which did for a while but they were moved to the c and c cage now. They've been in for about 5 days and I've noticed that Meg who is the mum has no problem going up the ramp but Abby her baby who is about 2 months old is struggling. I don't know if it's because she's still small or because she was born with her feet turned in but she is scared to come back down so doesn't go up. I've tried helping but she's still scared.
Is there anyway to help because I would rather keep the top floor?

What is the ramp like? Can you put in a tunnel like this

I think I have one of those in the house somewhere. If it does fit how would I attach it safely?

This is what I have at the moment the ramps quite narrow

Could you line the ramp with fleece or carpet so that it is more grippy.
My pigs wouldn't use my ramp until I put a cut up carpet tile on the ramp for them to grip while they are running up and down.

I have some carpet on it already but the way her feet are the of her feet are turned up so she can't grab things

Oh, bless her. She might well just find it too hard to climb down. It did take mine a good few weeks to learn to use the ramp and one of my pigs would go up and not down as she was too scared. I just found that one day they had cracked it and could run up and down without me really doing anything.

When i used a tunnel i put a whole in the tunnel and attached to the wire

I have changed cages now but this is what it did look like with the tunnel

that looks like an ideal solution,do you think it is possible to adapt your current c and c cage to a similar ramp/tunnels as in the photo ?:)

my boar won't go up the ramp either! I think the c and c ones are a bit steep. perhaps but something under the bottom of it so he/she had to step up onto it but then it will be less steep.

I brought two storey cage for my girls and it came with a slope which was very slippery. They would struggle to come up and slide down (which was funny) but on the serious note, I didn't it was the great design slope for guinea pigs so I used woodland playsticks to provide grips and i used metal wire to hold the playsticks onto the slope. (Of course tuck away the wire so the piggies dont come in contact with the wire). From that moment onwards they have no problem with coming up or down.

I put a step under the ramp and she was going up and down a bit better but they barely used the upstairs so I decided it was a waste and made the cage longer instead. So now they have a 5 x 2
