Hi everyone,
I have a question.....

I have a 2 year old male who has sterile IC ( confirmed by vet) since April this year. His on 0.6 mls of cat metacam twice daily and with flares 1 ml twice daily. Half cystease twice daily with water and potassium citrate twice a day. His had one four week of catrophen injections which he responded well. After 2 months he needed some more catrophen the first injection lasted him a week. The 2, 3 and 4 th only lasted 2 days then we had crying. His inside with his girl now for winter on fleece . This week I have been giving him just under one capsule of of cystease twice daily and reducing his pellets to 1 tablespoon twice daily and he is loving life. Popcorning no crying eating plenty of meadow and soft Timothy hay drinking well. Now his 1,500 g. I’ve also got him down to 0.8mls of metacam twice a day. Could this change in him be because I’ve decreased his pellets and he needed to be on a higher dose of cystease?
I know he will have flares but will this dose of cystease be ok for him to have?
His also on the IC Veg diet.
Many thanks.

To clarify, his pellets is this one tablespoon in the morning and one tablespoon in the evening?
If so, then that is too much. Pellets should only be is one tablespoon once per day. If you wish to give pellets twice a day then it needs to be half a tablespoon in the morning and half a tablespoon in the evening

Yes one tablespoon in the am and pm as there are two of them living together. And ad lib hay. His on the science selective I’ve tried them on the grain free one but they won’t touch it.
