My two piggies are currently housed in the Ferplast 120. They will be moving into a different room, and because they will have more space it only made sense to build a c&c cage. I was hoping to be able to fit a 5x2, but when I've measured only a 4x2 will fit in the space. Is it worth me upgrading to a 4x2 from a Ferplast 120?

-By the way, the girls will be able to have so much more floor time in their new room, but I want them to have as much space in their cage as they can because even with the best intentions, there will of course be days where they can't come out!-

yes a 4x2 is worth the extention.its the equivalant of 150cm/5 feet x 77cms,your piggies will appreciate the xtra room.good luck.please show some pics when you get time.:)

Thanks Eileen, I've been trying to do the maths but I've been so tired trying to buy everything to piggy-proof the room I just can't visualise it! Just excited to get the little critters home x

I would defo upgrade if I was you! I did exactly the same a few weeks ago and now it's a4x2 Aswell! I think it's well worth it!

Also I use the plastic coated grids I think this they look nicer to be honest and they are a lot cheaper!

Also I do have a igloo it's just not in this picture!

I also think it's worth the upgrade.
Plus if at a later stage you end up with a different space for your piggies, as C&C is easier to move around to fit into any space.
For example I wanted a really long cage for my 4, but we don't have the space for that so we have made an L shaped C&C instead.
Plus you can always add a loft, which doesn't count as floor space because not all piggies use it, but my 4 love their loft.

Thanks guys! My grids are due to arrive tomorrow, and I've found a local sign maker who is going to sell me some correx. I've not got grids etc to make a loft yet, but i figure I can add that at a later date. I'm sure they'd love one as they love jumping on top of their wooden house (or what's left of it, it has been demolished!) so they can have a nosey.

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out :)

I used my old cage to make a loft.

Oh wow! I'm not sure how I would do that!
I'm thinking I will use the wire grids from my old cage to block areas off during floor time. Hoping I won't need it to keep them in if there poorly or anything... but if I do it's there!

My grids are due to arrive today and my dad kindly just picked up my correx from a local sign maker... Fleece is in the process of being washed a few times... can't wait to bring them home! (I'm taking them from my boyfriends grandparents who can no longer look after them)
