Hello all! I rescued two bonded boars Lenny and Link about a month ago. I originally purchased a 4x2 c&c cage. But after everything I read about giving them as much space as possible I ‘renovated’ their cage and increased the size to 5x2 c&c with clear acrylic front panels and I also added a loft. There is a fleece liner on each level, a “dining/litter” area and fleece pee pads beneath the hideouts. Since I’m new to Guinea pigs, I’d love to hear feedback and see if there are any other upgrades I should make. Thanks in advance! - Terri

Cage looks fab, such a lovely space for them!
The only change I would make is remove the hay rack and just put a pile in the kitchen area, piggies love to burrow in hay and make hay nests!
I agree, the whole set up looks great, just watch your piggies popcorn even more by giving them a mound of loose hay to play in😍

Excellent idea! I was just worried that they wouldn't eat the hay if they accidently went potty on it. Is it okay if that happens?

My boys are completely bedded on meadow hay with a few piles of timothy hay in various areas in their cage. I did originally have some hay racks but it was clear they restricted hay intake and fun! My boys couldn’t be happier being in, on, under large piles of hay!

The piggy in your last photo with the stripy nose, that face reminds me so much of Jack  same pose and part-open mouth and everything! They're lucky boys.
